In the Pediatric Neuropsychiatric Unit, we examine and treat children and adolescents with severe neuropsychiatric disorders and extensive learning disabilities.
We diagnose demanding neuropsychiatric disorders and provide neuropsychiatric rehabilitation. The unit also includes a day center where we examine the child's situation and plan rehabilitation during treatment periods of 1–4 days.
We work in cooperation with the families. We meet with the child and the parents both together and separately. With parental consent, and when needed, we can also cooperate with the school, social services, and those who have previously treated the child.
As a rule, patients will be referred for treatment from other HUS units.
