The Psychiatric Day Center for Young Children is for children under 6 years of age.
During treatment periods, we focus on treating the child’s mental development issues and the family’s interaction problems. We set clearly defined goals for the treatment period, working together with the parents and the outpatient unit responsible for the patient’s care. Supporting the resources of the child and the family forms an important part of the care.
The family is closely involved in the treatment period. With the parents’ permission, we also visit the child’s everyday environment, such as a daycare center.
Patients are referred to us from psychiatric clinics for young children.
