Reproductive Medicine Unit, Tilkan Viuhka
Keywords:In the Reproductive Medicine Unit, we examine and treat disorders of female hormonal function, infertility, and gynecological problems of young women. We are also responsible for hormone treatments for transgender people and treatments aimed at preserving fertility, for example, before cancer treatments that will affect fertility.
Our unit also houses a sperm and IVF laboratory.
Treatment at our unit requires a physician’s referral. We use all modern treatment methods, such as follicle maturation, in vitro fertilization (IVF), and frozen embryo transfers. In Finland, embryo diagnostic treatments in public health care are centralized at HUS. You can find information about the course of infertility treatments and the most frequently asked questions on this page.
We are looking for gamete donors for fertility treatments. More information on donating gametes can be found on the Sperm and Egg Bank’s website.
When you arrive
The building is called Tilkan Viuhka. Please register using a self-registration kiosk in the entrance lobby 15 minutes before your scheduled appointment. The kiosk will show you what floor your appointment is on (2nd or 3rd floor).
Please check that your contact information displayed by the kiosk is correct (address, phone number, email address). If the information needs updating, the info desk personnel on the 3rd floor can help you.
We recommend using public transportation. Bus stops for HSL buses and long distance buses, as well as a tram stop, are located close to the Tilkan Viuhka building. All the stops are named Tilkka.
Paid parking spaces are available in the yard of Tilkka Hospital, behind Tilkan Viuhka. In addition, there is a paid AIMO-Park parking garage under Tilkka Hospital. The entrance to the parking garage is from the left Sanitäärinkatu (Sanitäärinkatu has two sections, the right one goes to the Tilkka Hospital and Tilkan Viuhka). Free two-hour on-street parking is available along Tilkankatu.
