The Strabismus Unit is located in Meilahti on Haartmaninkatu.
In the Strabismus Unit, we treat patients of all ages from the HUS region, and we are also responsible for the treatment of difficult strabismus cases from all over the country.
Strabismus is a condition in which the eyes do not align with each other when looking at an object. People of any age can have strabismus, and it can occur at any age, either gradually or suddenly.
When the strabismus causes an effort to view or see, or it is a communicative disadvantage, it is possible to treat in many cases. Treatment options include eye glasses, prism lenses, or surgery of the extraocular muscles.
