Outpatient Clinic for Orthopedics and Traumatology, Hyvinkää Hospital
Keywords:At the Hyvinkää Hospital’s Outpatient Clinic for Orthopedics and Traumatology, we treat musculoskeletal disorders or injuries.
Treatment at the outpatient clinic and non-urgent surgical procedures require a referral from primary health care. As a rule, patients requiring urgent care arrive through the emergency department on the basis of an emergency referral. We treat patients from the Hyvinkää, Mäntsälä, Järvenpää, Nurmijärvi, Tuusula and Kerava areas, but also more broadly from the Helsinki, Vantaa and Västra Nyland areas, because, for example, back surgery in the Uusimaa region has been centralized in our hospital.
We usually meet our patients in need of non-urgent care for the first time at the Outpatient Clinic for Orthopedics. After the appointment, we will prescribe the necessary further examinations, such as X-ray or MRI examinations, plan required further care, and possible surgical treatment. Orthopedic surgery conducted at our hospital include knee and hip replacement surgery, back surgery, knee and shoulder arthroscopies, such as anterior cruciate ligament repair and rotator cuff repair surgeries, as well as surgery on the foot area, for example, hallux valgus surgeries.
In case of urgent musculoskeletal injuries, treatment is most commonly available through the hospital’s emergency department. Typical injuries include hip and ankle fractures. We will plan your treatment individually. The treatment of fractures and muscle and tendon injuries does not always require surgical procedures, in which case the treatment may be, for example, treatment with a cast or orthosis or physiotherapy. Injuries requiring surgical procedures are treated in our surgery unit. Many injuries are suitable for ambulatory surgery, but if necessary, we can arrange further treatment on our orthopedic inpatient ward. Our most common emergency surgeries include hip and ankle fracture surgeries.
