Emergency Department, Women's Hospital

Keywords:

In the Emergency Department of the Women's Hospital, we treat women who are pregnant, have just given birth or have a gynecological problem and are in need of urgent care.

Phone numbers

We treat, for example, acute and profuse cases of gynecological bleeding and pain, infections of the reproductive organs and acute problems related to pregnancy. If you are a gynecological patient, as a rule, you need a physician’s referral to access treatment.

In the Emergency Department, we only handle urgent matters that cannot wait. Please call the telephone number for the assessment of the need for treatment prior to your arrival. If you’re calling about an appointment, please contact the outpatient clinic responsible for your care during office hours. If you are coming in to give birth, please call the childbirth helpline, tel. 09 471 71500.

Estimated duration of an emergency department visit

At the hospital emergency clinic, we always assess the need and urgency for treatment first. Based on this, you will be referred to a nurse or physician. Patients are treated in the order of urgency, not in the order of arrival. Because of this, a patient who has arrived after you may be admitted for treatment before you.
