Addiction psychiatry
Keywords:Addiction psychiatry is a discipline where we treat patients with an addiction disease who also have a mental health condition.
On the Addiction Psychiatry Ward, we conduct psychiatric and substance abuse assessments requiring special expertise and perform demanding differential diagnostic evaluations when you are suspected of having a serious psychiatric disorder alongside an addiction disease. We also conduct demanding assessments of the need for opioid substitution treatment, psychiatric examinations during pregnancy and rehabilitation treatments requiring special expertise, assessments of the need for support during pregnancy and for opioid substitution treatment, and also demanding neuropsychiatric examinations and demanding work ability assessments when you have a severe substance dependence.
In addition to performing examinations and evaluations, on the HUS Addiction Psychiatry Ward we also treat opioid addiction if your condition requires specialist medical care expertise.
We provide care that is compliant with the Current Care guidelines for intoxicant addiction and any other disorders you may have. Our treatment range includes biological and psychosocial treatments based on up-to-date evidence. We also engage in scientific research.
