Elielinaukio X-ray unit
Keywords:In the Elielinaukio X-ray unit, we perform plain X-ray examinations without appointment and other imaging examinations by appointment.
Imaging of children younger than 7 years of age is conducted in the X-ray unit at New Children's Hospital. X-ray images of children with suspected fractures as well as children's fracture controls are always taken in the X-ray Unit at New Children’s Hospital.
We perform plain X-ray examinations, i.e. bone and chest imaging without an appointment. You can come in for X-ray examinations when it best suits you. Our unit does not take dental and jaw X-rays nor perform mechanical axis examinations of lower extremities.
Ultrasound examinations and bone density tests are carried out by appointment. You can make an appointment by calling our customer service. We conduct ultrasound examinations only for customers over 16 years of age.
We are located in the city center of Helsinki, in the third floor in Postitalo. The main entrance is through doors from Elielinaukio. You can reach our facilities only by the elevator located in staircase G. Register in the waiting room at the self-registration kiosk. If you are visually impaired, you can find the info desk on the left, about 10 meters from the elevator.
We conduct examinations for customers from HUS area health centers and hospitals.
Patients must be able to get onto the examination table on their own. We do not have a patient lift, e.g., to transfer patients from a wheelchair to an examination table.
You are free to choose your X-ray location
Once you receive a referral to HUS for skeletal, chest, or dental X-ray examinations, you are free to choose the imaging unit where you go for the examinations. Most X-ray units do not require booking an appointment.
How do I prepare for examinations and where do I get the results?
Examinations always require a referral. See here for more information on preparing for examinations, on receiving the results, and instructions on ordering copies of your images.
