Jorvi Hospital construction projects

With the renovations and additional construction, we are preparing for an increase in demand as we strengthen the emergency care role of Jorvi Hospital. The aim of the renovations is to ensure sufficient operating room capacity, among other matters.

New building for inpatient wards

In winter 2023, we started the construction of a new 5-story building for inpatient wards in Jorvi Hospital. The new building will be located on the site of our existing separate buildings for pediatrics at Jorvi. The construction will be finished in late 2025, and the ward building will open after summer 2026.

The new inpatient ward building will replace ward towers S, K, and N, which are in poor condition and no longer suitable for current requirements in specialized healthcare.

The new ward building will be integrated into the current hospital building. A new main lobby with access to the new ward building and the existing facilities will replace the current main entrance. The new main lobby will provide a barrier-free access to all floors of the hospital, as well as the laboratory and imaging facilities. 

The lowest floor of the building, floor 0, will house the Pediatric Outpatient Clinic and facilities for support services. All our childbirth services along with the maternity wards, which are currently operating in temporary facilities at Espoo Hospital, will move to floors 1–4. Medical imaging will also have new facilities in the new building.
