HUS year 2022: Our strategy has ambitious goals for the years 2023–2027
At the beginning of 2023, we adopted a new strategy with the vision “Leading healthcare together”. The cornerstones of our operations – our values and promise, or mission – remained unchanged.
We updated our strategy towards the end of 2022, as our operating environment was about to change with the implementation of the health and social services reform. HUS is now no longer a joint municipal authority; it is a corporation owned by wellbeing services counties and the City of Helsinki.
Our new strategy was adopted at the HUS General Meeting on December 14, 2022.
Our goal for the strategy period 2023–2027 is to become the leading university hospital in the Nordic countries. We will attain this goal by investing in the strategic focus areas now adopted.
There are five strategic focus areas, each with their own goals for this five year period. Subgoals will be defined for each year.
- Cooperation between wellbeing services counties
Goal for the strategy period: systematic, goal-oriented, effective cooperation for the benefit of customers - Patient experience
Goal: Best patient experience in Finland - Employee experience
Goal: Most attractive workplace - Continuous improvement and renewal
Goal: Best university hospital in the Nordic countries - Sustainable economy
Goal: Services of high quality provided on an equal and cost-effective basis
Our promise, or mission, is to give better care, for every patient, every day.
Our values – Caring, Equality and Pioneership – remained unchanged.
