HUS year 2022: Responsibility
We, at HUS, are accountable for our actions above all to our patients but also to our employees and owners, and more broadly to society at large.
Our corporate responsibility program for 2021–2022 is divided into three goal areas: social, financial and environmental responsibility. The program covers all key HUS stakeholders: patients, employees and owner municipalities.
The objectives in the program are addressed with concrete projects and measures for promoting responsibility. This has paved the way to success in addressing more demanding objectives going forward.
Our key responsibility objectives included: increasing procurement expertise; improving the customer experience and supervisor work; improving remote appointments; and reducing food waste. Our responsibility indicators and how well the objectives have been attained are reported in detail under their respective areas of responsibility.
In addition to the objectives in the corporate responsibility program, we publish an annual corporate responsibility report compliant with the GRI standard.
Social responsibility
NPS indicators exceeded our goals at our inpatient and emergency care units and for remote appointments. Employee satisfaction with leadership also improved during the year, though we did not attain our goal.
Environmental responsibility
In 2022, we completed our climate road map, exceeded our energy efficiency goals and reduced the total amount of waste and of food waste generated. Remote appointments reduced the environmental load caused by mobility.
Financial responsibility
Under financial responsibility in the year under review, we focused on increasing expertise in procurement and agreements. We also executed a productivity program as planned.
